images-6Run, kid, run till your lungs ache and your shins split open. Run till you leave the dead earth hanging on the shattered horizon. Run, leave the immaculate fields behind, plains where the grass is too green, run and strip the unnecessary. Run, love, run till your eyes have drowned in an ocean of stinging tears, run till the trees drift away into an illusional distance. Run till the rain has drenched your bones and the snow nestles in your hair. Run till you are carved raw, run till you find the abode of your demons and the abbey of your angels, run , for the sake of your damned life, run. Run till colours drink themselves up in the sky and the night folds into herself.

Words that move me | Dp self prompt

Words can create. Words can destroy. Words weave the stories we all love and the ones that make us cry are made up of words. Words are the most decent way to inflict pain and perhaps the most vicious. Words matter. Words move. Here are the words of great people who have made me question tradition:

  1. “I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.” ― Gilda Radner
  2. “To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.” ― Arundhati Roy. (Arundhati Roy is a legend. Talk about guts, talk about courage)
  3. “When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back.” – Paulo Coelho

Allergic to E Challenge

Thanks to the amazing Story Teller for nominating me for this exciting challenge! Do visit this blog, it is worth a good read. When I was nearly done with this, I had to shut everything down at the last minute due to an emergency (arghhh!!!) Anyways here it goes 😦

First, here are the rules for this challenge:

1) Write a whole paragraph ( a paragraph sounds easy right?) without any word containing the letter “e” (still easy for ya?)
2) By reading this you are already signed up.
3) Challenge at least five bloggers to do the challenge. They must do it within 24 hours or it is considered as failure.
4) If you fail or pass, suffer in the Page of Lame.
5) If you win, wallow in the Page of Fame.

My entry:

Many things in my world count so much in making my wish to accomplish into what truly is. All of us wish for happy days, no bumps, no cracks and an infinity days full of guffaws along with tons of joy.I wish that our tiny wish turns into truth. All of us would hold a soft spot for it , I am firm of that.

This post is kind of sprawling in no direction but I do love the letter E . Kind of hard to do without it…..

5. You may or may not pay attention to punctuation and capitals. However, if you do, it would be best.

The Summer Season

Of the four seasons that pass by,, my favorite is definitely the summer season. It brings in the warmth of hope after a long winter (particularly where I live) . Summer is characterized by heat, uncomfortable time and often times fatigue. But, I love summer for the feeling of it. If it is compared to the winter here in Kashmir, then it is a blessing. After 6 months of chilly winter, cold and snow, we finally get to feel the heat and the light that the beautiful sun emits. Summer , to me, is synonymous with regeneration and the feeling of a new anticipation ahead. Hardly some people find the winters interesting here, but I find them boring and of course, in contrast to that, I love the summer season, which to me is nature’s exquisite smile.

The Woodland Lake

When I extended my gaze

out towards that lake,

I saw in its depth,

another me staring back,

With curious eyes,

with a questioning look,

it asked me a question,

written in no book.

It asked me if I was still alive,

If I still enjoyed the little things,

If I still wished a wish for wings,

If I still give thanks to him,

for every bit,

for every thing.

If I still loved the dance

of the birds

If I still loved the clouds,

quenching the land’s thirst.

If I was still alive,

and was living my life,

why was I putting it at stake?

thinking of merging my unconcerned self,

with the clear, deserted

woodland lake.

This is my entry for the Non – Love in More Than Ten Sentences challenge given to me by Nicodemas over at nicodemasplusthree. Thanks to you Nicodemas, I really enjoyed doing this.

This is a poem about a person who tries to commit suicide but his/her soul couldn’t let go and stopped him/her because he/she deserved to live , to love, to fight, to leave a mark on this world. This is not really a love poem but it is in a way that we love ourselves even when we have extinguished all sources of love, when we are alone, when no one seems to be there, we are there, just for ourselves. 🙂

The rules for this challenge are easy. The word love must be in the poem, at least once. You need an adjective such as “unconcerned”. There must be more than ten lines, and you need to link to my site with your poem. I really had fun with this all thanks to nicodemasplusthree.

I nominate the following people if they are interested in participating in the challenge. No pressure, only if you want to:

1.Source of Inspiration

2.Author Erika Kind

3.Richard Ankers

4.Window With A View

5.Life Confusions

Andrea lay in bed, tired, weary and above all fed up with everything , her life, her existence and her fate. She watched all the other girls play badminton, run around and swim but she herself was stuck in bed, sick, unhappy and ailing. She was diagnosed with cancer ( osteosarcoma ) a few weeks ago and there she lay, her body weak and swollen with medicine. She just didn’t want her kind of life anymore, boring , unproductive and above all she didn’t even know how far was she going to go.

Andrea’s dad came in and pecked her on the cheek, told her not to worry, like always and told her to cheer up. Suddenly , the nurse came in and told her that she was going to be operated an hour later. She was used to it, surgeries, heavy doses of medicine, scans and extensive unconsciousness. She simply said okay. After the operation, her parents were informed that she won’t be living for long….. That broke her parents’ heart. But they decided not to tell her about it, to let her enjoy the remaining time of her life….

After a week, an unexpected visitor came to her ward. The woman introduced herself as Rachel. They didn’t know each other but they seemed to like each other on a single sight and they talked for hours together. For the first time in a month had Andrea smiled and enjoyed her life… Rachel promised to visit again and slowly but steadily it became a habit. They spent a lot of time together, talking, laughing, sharing jokes and ideas. Andrea began to live in real terms and looked forward to Rachel’s visits. She enjoyed all the books that she read her, the flowers she got her and the movies they watched together. One day, Rachel stayed with Andrea till late at night, read her some of her favorite poems and when it was time for her to leave, she promised to come back again, like always. Andrea smiled a peaceful and detached smile…………. ……………… ……………. She never woke up again. The next morning when Rachel came, she found her bed empty. She inquired about her and was informed about the inevitable. She cried on the unprecedented pain that pierced her heart and realized what an important part of her, she had lost….

The truth was that when she visited her for the first time, she realized that she had entered the wrong ward after leaving the hospital, but she continued to visit her because she knew how lonely Andrea was, how much she had longed to be free, out of the machines and into the world…. Rachel had formed a special bond with Andrea , a bond that was impossible to break and yet Andrea escaped into thin air, like she had never existed , leaving a scar in Rachel’s heart…………………But Andrea died a happier person, a loved person, a gifted person and whenever she had felt alone and excluded, she had Rachel, a companion she had found by mistake….. Andrea didn’t have a long life, a long road to go but she ended her journey like everyone would want to – happily.
